The increasing internationalisation and globalisation of business is having a dramatic effect on the developing countries in particular. There is increasing demand for business graduates with a strong understanding of the challenges of international business. The programme is designed for students who would not normally have completed a strong undergraduate honours degree in business nor have significant experience in business management but who wish to gain knowledge of business at an advanced level. It provides a conversion path for students who have completed an undergraduate honours degree in a non-business subject or who need to revisit core elements of an undergraduate business degree.The programme takes account of the consolidation of managerial and institutional economic interpretations of international business issues in academic research, particularly:
- Transaction cost-based theories of the firm, and the development and transfer of competencies;
- Political economic interpretations of the development of international institutions;
- Network theoretic explanations of the internationalisation process, strategic alliances and international business organisation;
- Corporate governance.
A particular feature of the University of Greenwich MBA (International Business) is commercial relevance and employability. The programme is designed to enhance knowledge and skills particularly sought by employers.
The programme includes:
- Detailed knowledge of international business principles
- Experience of the latest ITC packages;
- Generalist and “soft” skills.
